Who I Am

About Me

I’m an operations leader with an IT foundation and a builder’s background. My career has crossed facility management, enterprise technology deployments, construction, and sales. The industries changed; the pattern didn’t: learn the system fast, find what isn’t working, communicate clearly, and improve the result.

Most recently I ran U-Haul’s Aberdeen location as General Manager: a 522-unit storage facility in a converted 66,000+ sq ft Shopko building, plus truck and trailer rentals, U-Box, and a small team. I was promoted from part-time customer service rep in four months. From January through July 2026, gross revenue grew 36.2% year over year and beat the prior year every month, while personnel expense fell from 18.5% to 12.8% of revenue. Occupancy rose from 430 to 500 units, about 96% full. After hours, I was the alarm center’s point of contact, deciding how to respond when unit alarms or cameras tripped overnight.

Earlier, I was one of eight contractors selected to support Target’s conversion of 1,500+ pharmacies to a new pharmacy system, worked in a deployment war room rolling out POS hardware to hundreds of AM Retail Group stores, and supported K–12 school districts at Infinite Campus. On the field side, I was the on-site lead for a $20M/yr roofing contractor, kicking off and closing out 2–4 builds a day.

I’m not a deep-in-the-code engineer, and I don’t want to be. My value is understanding technology well enough to work credibly with technical teams while I keep the people, the schedule, and the big picture moving. I’m at my best when the stakes are real and there’s a scoreboard.

Infinite Campus: Teaching, Not Doing

A school user’s emergency contact report kept coming back full of blanks because phone numbers lived in different fields. Policy said support couldn’t build Ad Hoc reports for customers, so I taught her COALESCE and concatenation by phone and annotated screenshots. Her survey: “I have never received the help and expertise like I did with Nathan.”
